As the Twilight-Fever has reached the rest of the world (China - Japan - and myself included) I have tried to find out what it is that makes girls become completely crazy. Thousands of
bloggers have opened sites about "Him" and everything that has to do with Stephenie Meyer's books, which I finally finished reading some days ago.

I still am not sure what the fascination is - love, of course, death threatening every second, beauty and youth, eternal youth and beauty - OMG - these have always been the most important topics of works of fiction and literature.

Whether Stephenie Meyer's books really are of any literary worth I really doubt - but that doesn't matter, that doesn't make them any less thrilling and fascinating.

To understand a little bit more of what and how the world's most beloved HERO thinks about being "Edward Cullen" - and the personality of the strange character he has to represent, I offer you this interview. It took place during the filming of "Twilight" in spring 2008.

Robert Pattinson's life has changed since then.

Before "Twilight" he had starred in some most interesting films like "Little Ashes", "The Haunted Airman" and "How to be" - a young actor that took his job very seriously - and enjoyed doing what he did with seriousness and profound and accurate preparation. He is talented, humorous, enjoys playing the guitar, singing, writing, writing lyrics, composing music ...

Now he was elected "Sexiest Man of the World" - oops - a young man of 23 years!

He is just a c h i l d - an excellent actor, of course, perhaps one of the best actors of his time! But he is not a "M A N" ! He is still a "B O Y"!

By the way, I'm looking forward to seeing him in "Bel Ami" - a novel by Guy de Maupassant a French writer of the 19th century. "Bel Ami" is an absolutely rotten character. Robert Pattinson will play him as perfectly as all his other roles.

What I fear is, that his lifestyle will never be the same again. Papparazzi are following him whereever he goes, women and girls scream and shout, cry and sob whereever he appears, it is
just ridiculous. His view of the world will change and not for the better. You cannot take people seriously if they behave themselves like a flock of sheep mooing and sobbing when they see him, this is disgusting!!!

But, will he ever be the same youthful, naive young man that he was before?

Why don't you go for a walk through the White House? Try it, you will find 8 staircases and a cinema room. Of course there is the Oval Office as everybody knows, but there are a lot of
other rooms nobody has ever heard of.
There are different wings in the house - well - is it a house or is it a palace? I'd say it is a palace!

Dear students - this is a short video which shows us exactly what American people should do
to be "green at work".

Green at work? What does that mean? Oh, yes, now we understand!

We should turn off electric gadgets when we don't use them, we should open the window and turn off the light if the sun is shining, turn off the air conditioning - just open the window!
And... use reusable cutlery (spoon, fork, knife) - bring along your own cup and wash it!

Swine flu has been detected (entdeckt)in seven countries, including New Zealand, Israel, and the U.S. But so far, all confirmed cases (bestätigte Fälle)are in people who have traveled to, or live in, Mexico.
Swine flu spread (sich ausbreiten)to the Middle East and the South Pacific on Tuesday, as New Zealand reported 3 confirmed cases and Israel said it had one.

World health officials (Gesundheitsbehörde) raised a global alert level (Wachsamkeitsstufe). And more deaths were reported in Mexico.

But so far, confirmed swine flu cases in humans around the world are in people who recently visited or live in Mexico. Health officials are watching to see if cases arise in other countries from local populations.

Yuen Kwok-yung, Head of Department of Microbiology, University of Hong Kong: "You have cases outside Mexico, in different geographical areas, from Europe, to US, to Australia and New Zealand. These are now imported cases (eingeführt). Once there are local cases there which are not imported in these areas, then it would be clearly a pandemic (Pandemie – Krankheit, die sich weltweit ausbreitet)."

The World Health Organization has stepped up (erhöht) its alert level, and at least 7 countries now have confirmed swine flu cases.

Barack Obama, US President: " This is obviously a cause for concern and requires a heightened state of alert, but it is not a cause for alarm.

In Israel: Yakov Litzman, Deputy Israeli Health Minister: "Things which are in both cases (are) people with fever, have the flu (Grippe) and have come in the last week from Mexico.

New Zealand: Tony Ryall, New Zealand Health Minister: As you know already, their symptoms were mild and all are recovering (auf dem Weg der Besserung). This is the pattern seen in countries outside of Mexico."

In Mexico, while the Mexican government has reported just 26 confirmed cases and seven deaths attributed to swine flu (der Schweinepest zugeschrieben werden), the news media has reported more than 150 deaths.

And, according to the Associated Press, Mexicos health secretary Jose Cordova has indicated the number of new cases reported by Mexico's largest government hospitals has been declining the past three days. (decline - abnehmen)

Mexico cancelled school nationwide (Schulen geschlossen) on Monday and the Mexican government still does not know where the flu originated (wo die Grippe urspünglich herkam).

Throughout Mexico, there were lines at hospitals for treatment, but some had signs posted in Spanish saying, There are no longer any vaccines (Impfstoffe)."

And one family said health authorities (Gesundheitsämter) refused to treat a relative (weigerten sich einen Verwandten zu behandeln) on Sunday who had full-blown flu (ausgeprägte Grippe Sypmtome) )symptoms and could barely stand (kaum stehen)).

The mans father-in-law told the Associated Press the 31-year-old truck driver was even ordered out of a government ambulance (er wurde sogar angewiesen den Krankenwagen zu verlassen).

(Spanish) Jorge Martinez Cruz, Father in law (Schwiegervater)of patient being treated for suspected swine flu (Verdachtsfall): (Reporter question: "And what happened in the ambulance?) "The girl in the ambulance told him to step down, that he was going to contaminate everybody in the ambulance, I think that was terrible." (to contaminate = anstecken) On Tuesday in Geneva, the World Health Organization (Weltgesundheitsorganisation) emphasized they do not recommend (empfehlen) any travel restrictions to any country, even though some individual countries have issued warnings (Warnungen herausgegeben) about travel. And scientists are working on a vaccine for this new virus strain (Virusstamm). Gregory Hartl, spokesman, World Heath Organization: "As I understand it there are currently four of our reference laboratories who are working with seed virus, and they are at various stages of producing the seed virus needed to make the vaccine." (seed virus - Erreger-Keim)

The WHO also emphasized (betonte )there is no danger from contracting swine flu from eating pork (Schweinefleisch).

Look and listen! This picture was taken in South Africa only 10 years ago.
